HOW TO SURVIVE
There’s no air in monoxide air,
and with e-coli in my drinking water
it’s time to flee this congested city.
I want to live among groves of trees
beneath clouds that are still white
and wells that pump pristine water.
The tonic of nature allows me to see
what I’ve been missing with fogged eyes.
I embrace oaks, maples and beech trees
with so much love it brings tears to their leaves.
Lichen covered stone walls shake with laughter
while stars on star moss twinkle with joy.
I’m never going back.
